Someone Stole All The Food From An Animal Shelter. But Then Something Beautiful Happened.

On Sunday morning, the staff at Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire showed up to a very sad sight. The shelter had been broken into, and all of the pet food was gone. They estimate 65 bags (about $750 worth) of donated cat food and dog food was stolen.

The thief was caught on camera, and they shared the surveillance video hoping he can be identified.

The donated pet food is distributed by the shelter to food pantries and people struggling to make ends meet. How someone could steal from the needy is just beyond comprehension.

While the case remains under investigation, situations like this show the power of social media and the loving side of humanity. For every thief, there are so many more people willing to give unselfishly. It’s amazing to know that the people and pets who need the food will get it.

And the shelter says the food donations are still rolling in!

There are always other ways to donate or help out, not only to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, but at your local shelters as well. 🙂
