Man captures dogs standing guard over fawn after deadly wildfire

Dogs continue to amaze with their selfless and considerate acts, and this story just adds to the ever-growing list of reasons we call them man’s best friend.

A devastating wildfire broke out in Kamiah, Idaho, that ravaged the land and destroyed 42 homes. After, a sheep dog and her two puppies could be seen standing guard over a dead fawn. They protected her body from predators for an entire day.

Louis Armstrong, a neighbor of the dogs, took this photo in the morning. Over the course of the day he’d come back to check on them — and there they were watching over the body.

No one knows if the dogs and fawn had met before the fire or not, but this just shows the protective and compassionate nature of our furry friends. We’re so lucky to have them in our lives.
