Boy Leaves Injured Pup Outside Shelter In A Box To Save Him From Abusive Father

A 12-year-old boy named Andrés knew what was best for his pit bull puppy even though it was the hard thing to do; He left the dog in a box outside of a shelter to save him from his abusive dad. He provided a note explaining the tough situation.

The note read as follows:

“My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him. I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me.”

The puppy, now named Rene, is receiving the proper care and love in the hands of a dog rescue group called Refugio Xollin! Rene still needs to be examined by a vet to check out what seems to be a fractured tail. Once fully recovered, the pit bull will be put up for adoption.

What a brave and selfless thing for this young boy to do. But thanks to him, this dog will never know neglect and abuse again.
