Hope For Paws received a call about an injured dog, so rescuer JoAnn Wiltz set out to help. Upon arrival, she could see that the stray was favoring his front leg. But it turned out he wasn’t hurt at all…
They got Smitty back to the hospital for a checkup, and it was there that they learned the dog was born without a radius in his right front leg. A condition called radial agenesis, a first for Hope For Paws! And since Smitty still uses that leg, they decided against amputation.
The good boy enjoyed his bubble bath, and then it was off to Hollywood Huskies for a foster…
And it wasn’t long before Smitty found that loving forever home! Thanks to Benjamin for adopting the special dog, he’s in the perfect place for the rest of his life. 🙂
