Do not adjust your screens! At first glance Venus looks unreal, magical, possibly photoshopped? But this pretty kitty is 100% born this way and she remains one of the most well known and loved cats of social media.
We asked Christina, Venus’ mom, some questions about the famous two faced feline.
How did Venus enter your life?
We first saw Venus in 2009 on a friend’s personal Facebook page. Her husband was doing some work on a dairy farm in North Carolina and had taken some pictures of a litter of kittens they had been feeding and playing with. Venus was one of them. It was in the next picture that I clicked on that I saw her eyes. I called my friend right away to find out of she’s friendly and if the farm owner would be ok with us adopting her. He said yes so with that, we arranged for a well check at her local vet and a few days later she came to live with us.
What’s life like in the Venus household, does she have any siblings?
She gets along great with our other pets. We lost Mojo (her best bud) in October and we could tell she was sad. We’ve since adopted Roo, a special needs cat with Radial Hypoplasia with a history of abuse and then ended up keeping a cat that was part of a trap, neuter, release colony because the kids let him in and he’s just never left. When we foster or have a rescue cat Venus isn’t too fond of it (she’s actually scared of kittens) but she knows she’s still the queen & just keeps to herself.

Can you tell us about some of the shelters doing great things you promote on Venus’ site?
Where can we go for more Venus?
