The El Paso police department is investigating an incident after a complaint was filed by the El Paso Zoo about a woman who climbed into the spider monkey enclosure on her own. She can be seen on video feeding the primates Hot Cheetos, and everything about this is just wrong.
“These are primates we’re talking about. They could do some substantial damage to you,” zookeeper Mason Kleist told ABC7.
Not to mention, feeding these animals Hot Cheetos when they are on specialized diets could have a negative impact on their stomachs. This behavior is unacceptable, and the monkeys have the most to lose in a situation like this if something were to go wrong.
