Woman Jumps Onto Freeway To Save Loose German Shepherd Dog Who Got Hit By A Car

She knew she had to take the chance to save Marco before he got hit by more cars.

Debbie Allen was driving down I-94 to meet a client when she saw something on the road. A dog was limping across the road trying to get away from the oncoming traffic. Debbie instinctively knew she was put in this situation to help the poor dog, so she immediately pulled over and jumped onto the freeway and began following the dog.

“I saw a dog in the middle of the road and it was obviously limping so I knew it had been hit,” Debbie told WXYZ. When the dog got near a center divider and sat down for a moment to catch his breath, Debbie sat down beside him to try and reassure him that everything was going to be okay.

Soon, Michigan Humane arrived to pick up the dog. They named him Marco, but found that he was not microchipped, and no one has come forward to claim him yet. Their suspicion is that he escaped his yard and ran onto the freeway and couldn’t find his way back. Marco has been kept under medical observation. Debbie is being hailed as a hero, but according to her she’s just a human being who feels God put her in that place to help Marco.
